Discover the famous skin-boosting smoothie that has taken Los Angeles by storm. Created by Hailey Bieber and found at popular wellness hotspot Erewhon, this drink is packed with ingredients aimed to give you that coveted “skin glaze” look. Don’t miss out on trying it for yourself!
Los Angeles, California: City of dreams, city of inevitable healing. But in my opinion, this place has a somewhat whimsical view of “Health Culture.”
As you grow older, around the age of 30, awareness and belief in healthy eating tend to kick in. While teen pimples might be on their way out by then, the skin still needs attention. When we heard about Hailey Bieber’s Strawberry Skin Glaze Smoothie, being sold at Erewhon for $20, we were intrigued. Could a simple drink enhance skin quality? And if so, would it be unpleasant to taste?
I may not be a math whiz, but if one Skin Glaze smoothie promises a skin glow-up, then logic dictates that a week’s worth should make me 30% hotter, right? Luckily, my job covers the cost of this beauty experiment. Brace yourself for my week-long journey with Skin Glaze smoothies – expect glowy skin, relaxation, and (surprise!) some tummy troubles along the way.
Monday: Day One
I walk into Silver Lake Erewhon, feeling excited like a kid on Christmas morning. My task for the day? To sip on a pricey celebrity smoothie. Surrounded by trendy teens splurging on $40 water bottles post-sport camp, I maintain my cool. With sun-protected skin and Everyday Oil glow, I’m poised to become even more attractive after trying the Skin Glaze smoothie – a magical elixir in my mind.
The first taste? Hmm, delicious chalk. The hue should be vibrant pink, yet it’s a muted beige (a natural shade I prefer). It’s surprisingly tasty, not the typical wellness potion; however, despite my robust appetite, I can’t finish it all. Passing half to my partner before hitting the local pool speeds up my laps noticeably. Is Hailey marketing this as the wrong thing? Could it be a secret sports elixir after all?
At 9:45 p.m., my partner sleepily complimented my skin as we got into bed. I proudly reminded them about my new smoothie regimen. They insisted they hadn’t forgotten and genuinely thought my skin looked great. Victory!
Tuesday: Day Two
At the end of my workday, I take a quick trip to Mid City to visit my dentist. He praises my teeth as “very good” but points out issues with my gums. We plan a follow-up “deep clean.” Afterward, I head to Erewhon in Mid City, feeling conflicted about spending $20 on a smoothie while anticipating an unexpected dental procedure that insurance only partially covers. (I didn’t work all day to deal with periodontitis!) I’ll likely be reimbursed for the smoothie, but it still feels absurd.
The Mid City Erewhon bathroom is stunning. Whether you’re browsing for sea moss in the neighborhood or protesting at Amazon (or maybe doing both!), it’s a great pit stop. I must say, my skin seems a bit more radiant after just one smoothie, but I also managed to moisturize last night (a rare occurrence), so take that observation with a pinch of salt. Have I always had that peculiar little wrinkle near my eyes? Is this why individuals opt for Botox? Perhaps Botox instead of dental work could be an option for me?
Wednesday: Day Three
On the third day, I noticed a new frustrating pimple on my forehead. Curious about its cause, I examined the Skin Smoothie’s ingredients.
Ingredients include: Malk Almond Milk, Zuma Valley Coconut Whip, Vital Proteins Vanilla Collagen, Erewhon Sea Moss, Maple Valley Maple Syrup, Hyaluronic Acid, Strawberries, Dates, Avocado, Bananas, Varilla Stenia, Driscolis Organic Stramberry Glaze.
While collagen and hyaluronic acid sound promising based on my Reddit beauty sleuthing, sea moss gel conjures up images of kelp strands in the ocean.
As I sip the smoothie today, once refreshing but now cloying, I ponder other Erewhon treats like fancy water and Tahini balls. Yet here I am destined to consume this same smoothie endlessly – akin to Penelope weaving her shroud if it were dairy-free and low in added sugar.
Thursday: Day Four
Today’s visit to Silver Lake Erewhon proves challenging as I feel judged by slim onlookers while dressed casually. Despite the fatphobia encounter, the kindness of Erewhon staff uplifts me. An empowering selfie boosts my spirits, highlighting my radiant cheeks. Warmed up by the weather, I find solace in icy treats during this scorching L.A. spell. Opting for smoothies due to laziness, even if the sweetness occasionally overwhelms me, Mia’s suggestion to skip maple syrup for a better taste rings true yet challenges my journalistic integrity.
Friday: Day Five
Back in Culver City, I joined friends on the Sony picket line before heading to the beach and stopping at Erewhon. The smoothie maker generously offers me ice water as I try fancy tester sunscreen, making my visit top-tier. However, my dream of enjoying the smoothie while cruising to music turns sour when the sun warms it to an unpleasant temperature before leaving Santa Monica. For the sake of my experiment, I make the last sip of a warm drink, and I throw away the remains.
In skin news, a sweet cat I’m looking after accidentally scratched my face in Echo Park, leaving a visible gash on my chin. I ponder if collagen from the smoothie can help it heal.
Saturday: Day Six
I’m amazed by the magical transformation happening with my skin today – it’s never looked better in weeks. The clarity is outstanding compared to last week, even though I’ve only used a bit of concealer and eyeliner. Time to test this newfound glow with a night of heavy drinking and pizza, like back in my early twenties!
Today’s shake experience wasn’t as smooth, especially next to my friend’s mouth-watering smoothie. Coveting their drink made me sulky while sipping mine reluctantly. This caused me to skip tacos at the barbecue later, leaving me groaning on my stomach most of the afternoon before bouncing back in the evening. All for the sake of this experiment!
Sunday: Day Seven
Last night, I indulged in a late outing, staying out until 4:25 a.m. and getting minimal sleep. In the morning, craving more than Erewhon’s offerings, I made a quick stop at Guisado’s for a hearty quesadilla, tamale, and vibrant cold brew horchata. Despite the wild night and lack of rest, my skin is surprisingly radiant in today’s hangover selfie, earning compliments even from friends with glowing complexions like Mia and Julia.
While the drink may not be the most appealing after repeated consumption, achieving a similar glow could be as simple as adding collagen supplements to your coffee and hyaluronic acid to your skincare routine. Although spending $20 daily on a beverage seems extravagant, the results are undeniably impressive. Picture experiencing this glow every day! Nonetheless, amidst this glamour, why does everyone at Erewhon seem so judgmental? They have no idea how perfect your life truly is!
Of course, in a week you won’t see all the benefits of using ‘Skin Glaze’ Smoothie. But if you want to try it for more than one week, we advise become an Erewhon member. In my opinion, it’s a step into a world where health meets luxury. With your membership, a suite of exclusive Erewhon Market benefits greets you at the door.
