Sephora Shopping Tips
While so many retailers are suffering online competition and are closing down, Sephora continues to thrive. The store is loved by many women - loved so much, in fact, that it’s taking business away from department stores’ cosmetic counters.
Sephora is not cheap, especially if you just come in and get whatever you need without looking for sales and discounts. But since there are usually sales and discounts, there is never a reason to pay more than you have to.
Read on to find nine ways to save at Sephora:
Shop at sales section
The best deals are displayed on the outer edges of the store, not the middle. Middle is for the hottest and most expensive new merchandise, so consider avoiding it.
Bottom shelves
The lower you go, the better the deals you will find.
Saturday shopping
The store features free samples of new products and free gifts on Saturdays.
Free custom makeover
If you have a party or just want to look good that day, make a free custom makeover appointment and learn some new trick or tips at no cost to you.
Ask for samples
You can ask for samples and can get up to three per day.
Value sets
Value sets and many gift boxes are truly good value, unlike some deals that are advertised at other places.
Become a rewards member
If you shop at Sephora a lot and tend to spend quite a bit of money, consider becoming a VIB, which is kind of like VIP. You can become such member if you spend more than $350 per year. As a VIB you will be getting special event invitations, additional discounts, and birthday surprise.
If you spend over $1,000 a year, you will be even more awarded, but don’t spend a $1,000 for make-up at any store, let alone a pricier one like this.
Follow Sephora on social media
If you follow them on Facebook or Twitter, you will be the first to know about sales and deals that are not advertised anywhere else.
Beauty insider program
This is one more way to be alerted about premium deals and new sales. This program is free to sign up for and has sales usually at the end of summer and beginning of fall. You don’t have to spend any money to join.
Just like with everything else, don’t overdue things at Sephora. You shouldn’t abuse their kindness and sample counters. Sephora is not a nail salon or a spa and if we will do our full nail polish or make up there, the store will eventually stop those sample counters. So let’s be considerate and enjoy perks within reason.
