School starts next week, and this means one more week of leisure for kids and a shopping sprint for parents. If you need to do some last-minute shopping don’t get upset as this is the time when you can score great deals, indeed. With 2 school children in the family there is always some school stuff to buy, from stationery to joggers and clothing. I can’t say I have my favorite store to shop for back-to-school items. But I checked out my local JCPenney store and discovered good bargains there. Here is what I’ve found.

Just on entering the store the first thing you see is “School Is Back and Saving are Too” sign and sales tags on most items in the women’s clothing section. For example, you can find women’s summer dresses for as low as $25.99, jeans for $21.99.

So, if you have a teenager, a pair of junior’s vintage straight jeans for just $21.99 instead of regular price of $49 would be an awesome deal not to be missed. In fact, the store boldly calls their current promotion Black Friday in July Sale implying that these are the lowest prices of the season that can be compared to only Black Friday Deals in November. So, I grabbed two pairs of high-rise jeans for my daughter because I know the high quality of denim by JCPenney and the cut is always flattering. Anyway, considering the price I got two pairs of jeans for the price of less than one. A good start of the day.

When you have a teenage daughter there is always a “nothing to wear” problem, so I checked out hoodie section as well for a new top to match new jeans.

I found a nice selection of hoodies including the trendy cropped one at sales prices, too.

Plus, there was Buy One Get One 50% Off offer on women’s socks and since my daughter and I wear the same size, I grabbed them too without thinking much.

As if it was not enough there were junior’s oversized graphic tees for just $8.99 instead of $20. I bought a couple of tees for her and one for me as loungewear. I wear size S and since they are oversized junior’s tees fit me fine. I must admit, I love that oversize trend for juniors as I can purchase clothing for both of us at the same junior’s department which is very flattering.

By the way, in the store I discovered that you can find the same deals and even more on their website. For example, there is JCPenney free shipping to stores without minimum purchase amount and other offers. But, do remember that you can’t apply JCPenney coupons to doorbusters I mentioned before, in other words, Black Friday deals are excluded from coupon.

Among other good offers you might be interested in are an extra 35% off select purchases made the day when you open and use your JCPenny credit card. I don’t have one, but in case you do you can save even more on your purchases with JCPenney Rewards program. You will earn rewards 2 times faster with your JCPenney credit card even on clearance & closeouts.

And finally, my favorite section in any store – clearance, with up to 80% off select merchandise. You will find not only apparel, but also sportswear, jewelry, watches and accessories in the clearance section.

There are nice Juicy by Juicy Couture joggers and matching zip-up jackets at 50% off, just perfect for PE. Semi-annual jewelry sale is the best you can only have, with up to 75% off regular prices on select styles.
