The News About GourmetGiftBaskets.com

Local residents, state and local officials, business leaders, and company employees gathered in Exeter, New Hampshire on August 31, 2016 to congratulate GourmetGiftBaskets.com with brand new headquarters. The online retailer was joined by PROCON and the Monahan Companies that are both based in New Hampshire and were designing and developing the new buildings. Monahan Companies is also helping to develop the new 106,000-square-foot manufacturing and distribution warehouse in Garrison Glen Corporate Park.

Opening ceremony included speeches and famous faces, like New Hampshire Governor Maggie Hassan. She spoke about pride and joy that many good paying and high quality jobs were brought to New Hampshire by GourmetGiftBaskets.com, which benefits the local economy and the residents. She was enthusiastic about the results that hard work can bring to all.

GourmetGiftBaskets.com has always been based in New Hampshire, previously in Kingston since 2012. They remain loyal to NH with selecting Exeter after years of search for a perfect place to expand.

Tom Monahan of Monahan Companies and GourmetGiftBaskets.com made an agreement to develop a large warehouse on the Garrison Glen lot. The town of Exeter happily approved such mutually beneficial project.

Town officials felt that GourmetGiftBaskets.com is a great fit for the town and for its economic development initials. The community shared the same sentiments, ensuring that the project is successful. The company’s Chief Operations Officer Jeff Abood spoke of his excitement and gratefulness to be here during the opening ceremony.

F.W. Webb, Cobham, and North American Power are three other companies that share Garrison Glen Industrial Park with GourmetGiftBaskets.com. There are hopes to attract even more businesses to the area and spur economic growth for the town of Exeter.

GourmetGiftBaskets.com is a relatively young company and has been in Abood family since the beginning. The Abood brothers, Jeff and CEO Ryan came from a family of entrepreneurs. The family had a few businesses over the years in New Hampshire and both brothers grew up working in them. One of those family businesses that started the GourmetGiftBaskets.com was Chalifour’s Flower Shop in Manchester, NH. In the basement of this family florist both brothers and their mom, Vice President Trudy Abood began making custom gift baskets and soon understood the potential such baskets can have.

Ryan Abood launched GourmetGiftBaskets.com in 2002 and it since became known for its quality, beauty, and variety of offerings, complete with great service and mostly same day deliveries.

The company is recognized nationwide as one of the top destinations for gift sending online and is still family owned. The retailer has been on 5000 fastest-growing companies list and currently occupies #238 spot as one of the fastest growing privately owned companies. Such fast growth is what accelerated the need for a much larger facility.

Jeff Abode is very excited that GourmetGiftBaskets.com has a long and fruitful relationship with PROCON. He has worked on a number of projects with their Director of Business Development Paul Roy and has always been pleased. The new headquarters building is the largest collaborative project for both companies so far.

A great cause for celebration is the fact that all three companies, GourmetGiftBaskets.com, PROCON, and Monahan Companies were able to create a team spirit that was strong from the beginning to the end result and was really a passion project, according to Jeff.

The new complex includes the headquarters, hi-bay manufacturing/warehousing and distribution facility of offices, assembly lines, 14 dock doors for shipping/receiving, and storage. The site also has 99-car parking lot and connection to the city water and sewer. This will also be home to sister companies, KingOfPOP.com, Cheesecake.com, and Strawberries.com.

GourmetGiftBaskets.com started as and still is a family business to the core. The company retains those family values and commitment to excellence. This shines through their products, handcrafted with love and consumers in mind. PROCON, its partner is another family business, counting its 81st year in operation. Through three generations the company has built exceptional facilities for industrial, aviation, commercial, institutional, hospitality, senior care, and multi-family usage in the Northeast. PROCON has created many long-lasting relationships with past clients that are based on combination of architecture, engineering, and construction solutions. The collaboration of those two companies will definitely benefit New Hampshire and Exeter.
